In addition, the act of smoking itself can lead to a build-up of plaque and tartar on the teeth. Over time, this can lead to gum disease and tooth loss. Brush Twice a Day: Brushing your teeth twice a day is one of the best ways to protect your enamel. Fluoride toothpaste can help remineralize your enamel and make it more resistant to damage.
